Nein, diese Sound-Collage hat nichts mit dem gleichnamigen Song von Christina Aguilera zu tun (und ist außerdem etwas älter).
Alle Klänge wurden in einer Auto-Waschstraße aufgenommen und nachträglich digital bearbeitet und verfremdet. (Der Mann von der Waschstraße hat schon ein wenig verwundert geschaut, als er sah, dass ich auf meinem Beifahrersitz ein Mikrofon und ein Aufnahmegerät platziert hatte.)
Ich finde, eine Fahrt durch eine Auto-Waschanlage ist eine sehr surreale Erfahrung. Dieses Gefühl wird in 'Car wash' noch zusätzlich verstärkt.
Seit einigen Jahren besitze ich übrigens kein eigenes Auto mehr. Ich vermisse es auch nicht – die Waschstraßen manchmal schon...
No, this sound collage has nothing to do with the Christina Aguilera song of the same title (and it is also a bit older).
What you hear was originally recorded in a car wash and later digitally manipulated in many ways. (The car wash assistant looked at me rather astonished when he saw the microphone and the recorder on the co-driver's seat.)
Driving through a car wash is a surreal experience, I think. Listening to this sound collage will make it even more surreal.
I haven’t owned a car for a few years. I don't miss it – but I sometimes do miss the car wash...
